Our vehicles are not massage chairs. While we may enjoy a good vibration in an overstuffed recliner, we generally want as smooth a ride as possible in our vehicles. One way to achieve this is to keep a vehicle's wheels in balance.
When a tire is mounted onto a wheel, it is usually out of balance. This means that as the wheel spins, there is a slight wobble to the path of the tire. For best handling performance and safety on the road, Aurora drivers want to minimize this wobble as much as possible. So we balance our tires. To balance a tire, your technician at Ken's Auto Service spins it on a machine or drum to determine where it is off-balance. He then attaches weights that counter-balance the uneven weight. Most people in Aurora are surprised at how much balancing improves the smoothness of their ride.
High-quality tires generally hold their balance well. But over time, wear and tear take their toll and tires can become unbalanced. Aurora drivers can tell when a front tire is unbalanced if they feel a vibration in the steering wheel. If a back tire is unbalanced, you'll feel a vibration in your seat. You may not notice these vibrations until they get fairly serious — or until someone else drives your vehicle — because they usually develop slowly. The average tire rotates at about 850 revolutions per minute at 60 mph/97 kmh. When a tire is out of balance, it actually hops down the road, rather than rolling. So at 60 mph/97 kph, it is slamming into the pavement 14 times a second. That's what creates the vibration. When tires are out of balance, they wear out more quickly. The lack of balance also causes extra wear on shocks, struts, steering components and suspension parts.

I have taken 2 vehicles to this location--I have not been disappointed...they present as professional and approachable. One of the really nice things--if there is a problem, they do not just "do the work"...they call and give you all the information you need to make an informed choice. From simple to the "Oh moment" when you realize there is not much you can do to save your car...unfortunate though they did not charge me for additional work which would not have helped the car anyway.
I would like to thank you for the assistance you gave to my wife after the fender bender that happened in front of your store. She related what a wonderful group of people you are. Your quick action to get her fender temporarily fixed allowed her to drive off with peace of mind. Thanks again for your help!

I was new to town and looking for an honest auto service shop. I read the other reviews and thought I'd check these guys out. I've been in for 2 visits, one for brake check and other for tires. Both times the service tech was honest with what was need; didn't need new brakes, just a clean and adjustment; and tires were not their specialty, so he referred me to a tire store down the road. Never felt pressured to pay for something I didn't need. I will be a repeat customer for sure. Great Job guys !!!

2000 Chevy Tahoe - our mechanic was Brian and our contact was Ryan. Ryan took the time to answer every question I had with regards to the maintenance the vehicle required. I was disappointed with the fact that when we went to pick up the vehicle it cost us an additional. $70 core charge for a part that Ryan knew I was going to take back to auto zone because it was defective. I was also led to believe the ECM was a new part for close to $500, only to find out it was refurbished. I would recommend advising customers if there is a core charge and being more clear as to the status of a replacement part. (New vs refurbished)

After talking with you and Ryan on the phone, I felt relieved and confident that I had called an auto repair shop who I could trust to be honest and fair, and also would make the proper repair. After just moving my daughter from Wichita to Denver, the last thing I wanted to happen was for her to have car trouble so far away from home, and know one I was familiar with there to make the repair. Please, Customers YOU MUST READ ON.. there is no better mechanic in CO. I have known Ken's Auto since I was a little girl and now I am pushing 30. Let me ask you, when your child is sick or even your pet do you not want the best for them?..Well for your car Ken's Auto IS THE BEST. These guys take care of you and tell you EXACTLY what is wrong or not wrong without beating around the bush or taking their sweet time only to make you pay more money AS OTHER PLACES DO. They are honest and caring to you and your car and fast.
My car wouldn't start, so we called Ken's Auto Services and had it towed to the shop. They made sure I was in the loop on what they have tested and what they were going to do next. The thing that impressed me the most is they called and asked if they could keep my car overnight to make sure it was still starting without any problems after sitting overnight. That to me was a good sign showing that they care about the quality of work they are providing. Everyone I talked to was very friendly, and I will be taking my car to Ken's from now on.
